Overview
Engineering Project Manager: Automation; salary up to GBP60k plus benefits. East Midlands: commutable from Nottingham, Leicester and Coventry. Our client has decades of expertise in design, development and manufacture of bespoke automation and robotic systems and is a leading automation system solution provider in the UK. They are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to oversee the activities of a professional solutions division and lead the delivery of special purpose machinery projects ranging from GBP200k to GBP2m.
Responsibilities
* Based near Leicester, ensure successful completion of multiple assigned projects on time and within budget; manage project scope and deviations; communicate with the customer at all stages.
* Act as technical lead for projects to ensure high standard of machine design from concept through delivery.
* Plan resources to complete projects; create quotes and approve upgrades outside of project scope; manage issues and plan aftersales support; ensure safe working practices and provide relevant documentation and CE certification at handover.
* Maintain and update specifications; define and control budgets; complete project plans and attain design approval with customer agreement; lead internal design reviews; develop and drive product development and standardisation.
* Complete IAT, FAT and SAT on every project machine.
* Approve and handover mechanical and controls BOMs to purchasing; identify cost savings; ensure customer information and component requirements are clear and arrive on time for delivery and installation.
Qualifications
* Proven project management skills; ideally experience with PLC control software and multi-axis robotic systems within a manufacturing environment.
