This is an exciting opportunity in F1 for an experienced Aerodynamics Model Technician / Model Maker. This role with based 100% in Brackley. The shift pattern is an early/late rotation: Early shift: 06:00-15:00, Late shift 14:00-23:15 but until 22:00 on a Friday Overtime: It is expected that you will work one early shift, 1 Saturday in every 6 The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture and assembly of aerodynamic models and related parts for development and testing. The role also encompasses the responsibility of assisting in development tests in the Wind Tunnel. You will be responsible for: * Preparation of parts for use on the Wind Tunnel model from and a variety of different manufacturing processes. * The assembly and checking of Wind Tunnel models to design and development specifications. * Executing model changes in the Wind Tunnel for aerodynamic development tests and liaison with the aerodynamicists to achieve performance targets. * Maintaining good quality control for component manufacture. * Provide technical feedback on the fitment and assembly of components to establish good design practices. * Aid in the training and development of staff to ensure high level of flexibility within the area. * Implement continuous improvement initiatives to establish best practice, improve quality, and productivity on the Wind Tunnel model. * Ensure processes are operated and carried out safely and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and department risk assessments. * Managing and maintaining the stock of consumables used in part preparation. * Help with the development and support of departmental processes and procedures. * Support Wind Tunnel tests in accordance with an agreed rota or shift system. * Maintain high standards of housekeeping. Ideally you will have: * Good knowledge of working materials used in model production. * Knowledge of model assembly and fitting model components would be advantageous. * Flexibility in hours and approach is required, along with a ‘can do’, ‘team playing’ attitude. * The ability to work under minimal supervision and to strict deadlines is essential.
