About the Role
We’re looking for a Lead Industrial Designer to champion design excellence across our hero products — turning engineering intent into simple, safe, and delightful user experiences.
You’ll lead the industrial design stream for key SKUs and own the documentation system that ensures every product ships with clear, accurate, and on-time artefacts that reduce support load and lift customer satisfaction.
From concept through to ECO release, you’ll embed documentation discipline, streamline collaboration between engineers and illustrators, and set the benchmark for how design is communicated across teams.
What Success Looks Like
* Outstanding Product Outcomes: Hero SKUs achieve higher NPS and reduced assembly time, verified through build tests.
* Design System in Action: A reusable, versioned library of components, icons, and CMF guides is adopted across R&D.
* Operational Excellence: A storyboard → illustrate → build-test → publish pipeline runs efficiently with measured quality gates.
* Cross-Functional Trust: Engineers, QA, and warranty teams rate your artefacts ≥9/10 for clarity and correctness.
What You’ll Do
* Lead the industrial design of assigned SKUs — from problem framing and concept generation to validation, CMF, packaging and launch.
* Architect and manage the documentation pipeline, ensuring templates, pagination, and release processes are error-free.
* Translate CAD and test feedback into buildable solutions; close loops with engineers quickly and decisively.
* Direct the documentation squad (designers, illustrators) across storyboards, callouts, tooling and safety notes.
* Run the ID cadence: concept crits, design reviews, DFM/DFA checkpoints, and pre-build briefings.
* Validate every instruction in real builds to remove ambiguity and improve assembly experience.
* Coach junior designers and illustrators, lifting standards in information design and documentation hygiene.
* Prepare print specs, proofs, and align packaging assets with production timelines.
About You
You’re a hands-on, calm, and meticulous designer who thrives on turning complexity into clarity.
You can move seamlessly between CAD, Illustrator, and the shop floor — seeing every detail through the lens of the end user.
You’re driven by outcomes, not ego, and operate as a multiplier who uplifts people, processes, and design quality.
You’ll bring:
* 7–10+ years in industrial design for shipped consumer products.
* Proven ownership of concept-to-launch design and documentation outcomes.
* Deep experience partnering with ME/EE engineers on DFM/DFA.
* Track record improving assembly experience and reducing support issues.
* Strong Adobe Illustrator/InDesign and CAD literacy; comfort with PLM and ECO flows.
* Excellence in information design and visual sequencing for complex assemblies.
* Clear, plain-language communication for global audiences.
Bonus skills:
* Experience with translation/localisation workflows.
* Usability testing and validation methods.
* Familiarity with ERP/WMS artwork release steps.
Why Join Us
You’ll be part of a product team that values precision, creativity and real-world impact — where industrial design and engineering meet to delight customers.
Here, great ideas don’t get buried in bureaucracy — they ship.
How to Apply
Apply with your portfolio and CV highlighting examples of documentation excellence and shipped consumer products that improved user experience or assembly performance.
