Due to expansion, a purchase ledger clerk is sought to join this Manchester-based commercial property business.

You will join the accounts payable team located at the company's Manchester HQ.

The primary responsibilities for this role include the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices for payment, reconciliation of supplier statements, and close management of the purchase ledger to support the smooth running of the company's financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Process high volumes of purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and correct coding.
* Match invoices to purchase orders where applicable.
* Resolve invoice queries with suppliers and internal departments promptly.
* Prepare and process supplier payment runs (BACS, CHAPS, etc.).
* Reconcile supplier statements and maintain up-to-date accounts.
* Maintain and update supplier information in the accounting system.
* Assist with month-end closing tasks including accruals and bank reconciliation.
* Support internal and external audits with relevant documentation.
* Be able to produce and analyse accurate data that serves to enhance our client and departmental reporting
* Handle ad-hoc finance admin duties as required by the finance team.

Skills and Qualifications:

* Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role.
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
* Good knowledge of accounting systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
