Support Technician — Salary: Competitive • Hours: Full-time, shift-based role (on a rotating shift pattern) • Location: Allington EFW, Kent

Then look no further… As a Support Technician at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Allington Energy from Waste Facility. Reporting to the Operations Shift Manager, you will carry out on-plant operational activities in line with FCC procedures, ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability. This is a full-time role, working on a rotating shift basis.

What will you be doing?
* Operating the plant in a safe, compliant and efficient manner on a rotating shift basis, including waste handling, boilers, steam systems, turbines, ash handling, conveyors, and water treatment.
* Using and interrogating Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to monitor and manage operations.
* Supporting operational safety and environmental performance, including safety inspections and compliance with the Environmental Permit.
* Carrying out front-line maintenance, equipment fault diagnosis and rectification.
* Assisting with plant shutdown, isolations, safe systems of work, and returning equipment to service.
* Taking an active role in workplace investigations, operational improvements and corrective actions.
* Supporting emergency response, including duties as a Fire Marshall and trained First Aider.
* Ensuring high standards of housekeeping and plant reliability.
What are we looking for?
* A broad technical background in plant operations or maintenance.
* Preferably two years’ experience with large boilers, rotating plant or similar process environments.
* Experience with DCS/SCADA systems would be advantageous.
* Strong knowledge of safe systems of work, risk assessments and safety rules.
* Ability to carry out front-line maintenance.
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a technical or science subject is preferred (other relevant qualifications/experience will be considered).
* IOSH Managing Safely training (or willingness to complete).
* Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, CMMS systems etc.).
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplined team.
* Commitment, resilience and the ability to work unsupervised while making safe and effective decisions.
* Flexibility to work shifts and respond quickly to operational demands.
