We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Teacher and Lead to join our Nursery team and strengthen our wider leadership structure across three Nursery rooms, working with children aged 2 to 5 years under the direction of the Early Years Phase Leader. Key Responsibilities: Provide strong, ethical leadership and strategic direction for the entire Nursery, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and use of assessment. Plan and deliver a high-quality Early Years curriculum in line with the EYFS framework. Support children’s learning and development through engaging activities and play-based learning. Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, promoting a welcoming and supportive environment. Ensure all safeguarding and welfare requirements are followed. Monitor and assess children’s progress, working closely with staff to support individual needs. Support and develop staff within the Nursery, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, providing mentoring and coaching where appropriate. Monitor pupil progress, attainment, and wellbeing, implementing strategies to close gaps and accelerate learning. Champion inclusive and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour and learning, in line with the school’s ethos and policies. Work closely with senior leaders, subject leaders, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective curriculum. Ensure that all learning spaces, both inside and outside of the classroom, are tidy, well-organised, and create a safe, inviting and accessible learning environment for all children. Engage with parents, carers, and external partners to enhance opportunities and support for all children. Engage in ongoing Continuous Professional Development as appropriate to the role e.g. NPQ in Early Years. Person Specification: A committed and outstanding early years practitioner with a proven track record of raising standards. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support colleagues. A deep understanding of early years’ pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to the school’s relational and trauma-informed approach to behaviour. High levels of reliability demonstrated through excellent attendance and punctuality. Experience in leading initiatives or teams is desirable but not essential. Qualifications and Experience: A passionate and experienced teacher with QTS. Experience teaching in Early Years, ideally Nursery (Pre-School). Leadership experience in Early Years. Strong classroom management and organisational skills. A passion for supporting children’s learning and development. A commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential. A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A positive mindset, sense of humour and a solution-focused approach to challenges. A belief in a relational and trauma-informed approach to behaviour, with high levels of empathy and emotional intelligence. Someone who embraces creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning.
