Location: Bassetlaw Hospital, Kilton Hill, Worksop, S81 0BD

Working Patterns: Bank Contract, 12-month Fixed-Term Contract

Competitive salary: DHU Band 8b.0, £62,484 per annum (pro rata) with a 30% evening enhancement, and 45% weekend enhancement

Job description


Job responsibilities

What your typical day looks like:

* Provide autonomous, advanced clinical care
* Assess, diagnose, treat, and refer patients effectively
* Conduct and interpret relevant diagnostic investigations
* Maintain high-quality clinical records
* Work as part of a team and collaborate with other staff within DHU


To be a successful Advanced Practitioner you'll need:

* Registered and practicing with a Professional Body
* Registered as a non-medical prescriber
* Minimum of two Level 7 modules
* Autonomous practice in multi-professional teams
* Proven ability to assess and manage complex conditions in adults and children

* Ability to complete concise clinical history and physical examination
* Formulate differential diagnosis and management plan
* Prepared to participate in service development
* Awareness of accountability in clinical practice
* Effective communication skills
* Excellent verbal and written skills
* Computer literate
* Negotiation skills and critical thinking
* Ability to identify individual client needs
* Effective time management and prioritization
* Commitment to lifelong learning
* Counselling & communication skills
* Facilitation & negotiation skills
* Knowledge of out-of-hours care, health, and social care developments
* Specialist clinical/technical skills
* Willingness to work unsocial hours including bank holidays
* Flexibility to meet service needs
* Travel between primary care sites (full driving license essential for LLR Home Visiting Service)
* Proven team player and autonomous worker
* Continuing professional development commitment
* High interpersonal skills and positive attitude
* Willingness to pursue MSc in advanced clinical practice


Desirable Skills & Qualifications

* Skills in ALS/PALS, cannulation, ECG interpretation, plastering, suturing, IRMER & X-ray interpretation, pathology, telephone triage
* Full driving license (for other DHU divisions)
* Masters level education or equivalent (e.g., MSc in Advanced Practice)
* Mentorship qualification


Experience (Essential)

* Substantial autonomous practice in multi-professional teams
* Evidence of autonomous physical assessment skills
* Broad knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care (adults and children)
* Experience in nurse-led clinics, emergency care, out-of-hours, or walk-in centres
* Consolidated independent prescribing experience
