In this role, you'll ensure that LONGi Europe organisation is operating in accordance with customers’ ESG performance standards and is ready to meet upcoming EU and Member States legislations. Your role will involve examining our corporate activities and working with headquarters in China to determine where improvements can be made and ensuring compliance with Sustainability/ESG legislations and customer ESG performance standards.
You'll implement and create Sustainability/ESG reports to promote sustainable development within the organization. You will engage directly with customers to support their due diligence in ESG/Sustainability and assist in their ESG audits and assessments of LONGi’s facilities, identifying and resolving problems to ensure compliance with performance standards.
What you will do:
* Engage with customers to present LONGi’s credentials in ESG/Sustainability.
* Develop and implement Sustainability/ESG strategies and action plans to ensure LONGi's sustainable development meets customers’ ESG Performance Standards.
* In cooperation with Legal, negotiate ESG/Sustainability agreements in customer contracts, manage associated costs, and ensure compliance.
* In cooperation with Sales Directors, ensure that all contractual agreements on ESG/Sustainability are met.
* Support implementation of ESG/Sustainability policies, practices, and reporting to ensure compliance with legislations and stay updated with UK, European Union, and Member States regulations.
* Liaise with relevant bodies such as local authorities, NSO, and associations.
* Propose organizational sustainability targets, develop plans to meet legislative and customer performance targets, and oversee their delivery.
* Conduct internal ESG impact assessments (e.g., Ecovadis, Archiles) to identify, assess, and reduce LONGi’s ESG risks and improve organizational impact on the environment, providing confidence in LONGi's ESG credentials to customers.
* Promote awareness within the organization of emerging ESG/Sustainability issues and implement best practices in corporate, ethical, and social responsibility areas.
* Manage relations with directors, senior management, and internal stakeholders on ESG/Sustainability environmental issues impacting the organization.
* A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification, preferably in bioscience, earth sciences, ecology, energy, environmental engineering, environmental health, environmental sciences, or management engineering with a sustainability focus.
* Business qualification or experience in business activity, especially in customer engagement, along with knowledge of environmental aspects.
* Show initiative, recognize emerging problems, and proactively develop solutions to mitigate issues before they arise.
* Manage projects, produce, and deliver presentations effectively.
* Possess skills in negotiations and project management.
* Be organized and able to distill information for effective communication.
* Fluent in both written and spoken English, Chinese, and German.
* Have commercial awareness and an understanding of business.
