Higher Level Teaching Assistant

• Hourly Rate: £18.62 per hour
• Location: Darwen, BB3
• Job Type: Part-time, Term Time

We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team, offering support that goes beyond the regular duties of a teaching assistant. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education and thrives in a school setting, enhancing the learning experience for students.

The role is required for 2 days per week every Tuesday and Wednesday from 08:45-15:15.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Work closely with teachers to prepare and deliver instructional materials and lessons.
• Provide support to small groups and individual students to reinforce learning objectives.
• Assist in assessing the progress of students and report findings to the teacher.
• Help in developing educational materials that cater to the needs of students at different learning levels.
• Implement behavioural management strategies to ensure a conducive learning environment.
• Take on supervisory duties during the absence of the teacher, maintaining the structure and continuity of the classroom.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role, preferably at a higher level.
• Strong understanding of classroom activities and teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• A commitment to professional development and a keen interest in furthering educational practices.
