About the Company
Hawkes Resourcing Group is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded commercial painting and decorating contractor based in Central London.
The business delivers high-quality works across Fit-Out, Residential, Healthcare, Education, Retail, Commercial and Heritage projects, working with a strong portfolio of Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors. With a healthy pipeline of secured work and long-term frameworks in place, they are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with an Estimator or Assistant Estimator.

The Role
Depending on experience, you will join the team as either an Assistant Estimator or Estimator, supporting and managing the pricing of painting and decorating packages from enquiry through to handover.
You will be involved in:

Measuring drawings and preparing take-offs
*
Assisting with and preparing competitive tenders
*
Attending site visits and client meetings
*
Reviewing drawings and specifications
*
Preparing RFIs and clarifying scope of works
*
Working closely with Project Managers for smooth handovers
*
Liaising with main contractors, suppliers and internal teams
*
Following up submitted tenders to help secure work
*
Helping forecast costs and provide commercial input
This role offers clear progression into a senior estimating position for the right person.
What They’re Looking For
They are open to Assistant Estimators or Estimators with:
✔️ Experience in estimating (painting, decorating or finishing trades preferred)
✔️ Background in construction, fit-out or refurbishment
✔️ Strong numerical and commercial awareness
✔️ Confident communication skills
✔️ Organised and able to manage multiple tenders
✔️ IT literate (Excel, Outlook; Bluebeam / PlanSwift desirable)
✔️ Ambition to grow and develop long-term
Trades backgrounds such as painting, drylining, plastering or flooring are highly welcome.
