The Security Team is looking for a proactive and professional team member to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and premises while providing outstanding customer service.

What you’ll do
 * Respond to incidents and security alerts
 * Carry out general security duties across the site
 * Provide friendly and professional assistance to staff and visitors
 * Respond promptly to security incidents and ensure emergency access points remain clear
 * Assist with maintaining a safe and secure environment and answer general enquiries from patients and visitors
 * Monitor CCTV, produce security ID badges, and perform other related duties as outlined in the attached job description

Main duties of the job
The Security Team provides a comprehensive security service across the main hospital site at Southend, operating in all weather conditions. As part of this front‑line service, you’ll need to be polite, helpful, and tactful, while also being firm and able to remain calm under pressure. This is a highly visible role involving regular contact with staff, visitors, and members of the public.

Person Specification
Education
 * GCSE or equivalent
 * A level
Security Systems
 * Working knowledge of CCTV and Access Control systems
 * Experience with other systems, i.e. panic alarms
Experience
 * Previous experience in a similar role
 * Dealing with members of the public
 * Experience with physical restraint
 * Knowledge of DOLS and MCA framework
 * Working for the NHS
