Job Description
Social Housing Electrician – Maintenance Department covering Sheffield & Chesterfield, Permanent position. Salary up to £38k plus van, phone, and overtime options. Working Monday to Friday, 8:30‑4:30.
Requirements
* NVQ level 3 in electrical installations (or equivalent)
* Familiar with the 18th edition Wiring Regulations
* Experience with 2391 testing & inspection standards
We have an opportunity for an Electrician to join a social housing contractor’s reactive maintenance division covering the Sheffield & Chesterfield areas. The primary focus of this role will be to undertake all tasks to achieve first‑time fix and deliver a high standard of workmanship in a timely and productive manner, always affording excellent customer service to the client.
Key Accountabilities
* Undertake repair/renewal works within the electrician’s remit and work with associated trades
* Ensure maintenance work is undertaken safely and in accordance with all technical standards
* Complete EICRs & testing of domestic wiring
* Communicate effectively with scheduler and line manager; work safely and in compliance with Health & Safety and safeguarding requirements
* Remain up‑to‑date with technical and legal requirements of the skill area
* Work in partnership with other operatives to complete repairs, if required
* Complete timesheets and worksheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job via a PDA
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Electrician who can utilise their skills to deliver small projects and repair works. Candidates should hold a full UK diving licence, be confident in managing their own workload, and ideally have experience in the housing maintenance sector.
