Support Worker
East of County Durham (primarily Seaham, Horden, Peterlee) but also across the whole county
Type: Permanent, Part Time (18.75hpw), Thursday and Friday 9am - 5pm, with flexible hours
Salary: £12.60 per hour (£24,638 per annum) plus great benefits including Health Cash Plan
About the role
Are you passionate about supporting others and making a real difference? As our Support Worker, you'll be central to helping customers with complex needs develop skills for independent living, enhancing their quality of life. Your daily tasks will include:
1. Assisting with practical daily living tasks to foster independence
2. Providing mental health support through group activities and 1:1 befriending sessions
3. Supporting with daily activities like meal preparation, shopping, budgeting, and tenancy maintenance
4. Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, and reviews
5. Building meaningful relationships through chats and catch-ups
What we’re looking for
* Passion for supporting others and working with attention to detail
* Experience caring for others, either professionally or personally
* Ability to work independently, stay calm under pressure, and be resilient
* Flexibility to adopt a personal approach tailored to individual needs
* A vehicle insured for business purposes (mileage paid)
Additional information
We’re unable to offer sponsorship to external candidates due to current certificate limits. You’ll join our Wellbeing Recovery Service team, led by Manager Lisa, dedicated to community service across the county.
Work hours are primarily Thursday and Friday 9am-5pm, with flexibility to meet customer needs. You should be comfortable using technology for support plans, online learning, and collaboration. An Enhanced DBS check is required, which we will pay for.
