What the Role Has to Offer:
UWS is rapidly growing, with a strong portfolio of products in conventional systems and maritime autonomy. This role involves supporting major bids critical to UWS and Thales's long-term strategy, as well as leading smaller bids, providing a broad overview of the business.
Primary Purpose of the Role:
To support the delivery of bids within the UWS domain, managing activities across sectors like anti-submarine warfare, mine warfare, future capabilities, or post-contract support. The role ensures a robust initial project baseline for project execution, leading a multidisciplinary bid team to deliver high-quality, winning proposals.
The role requires professionalism, excellent communication, stakeholder management, commercial awareness, and proactive risk mitigation.
Principal Relationships:
* Capture Leads
* UWS Head of Bid and Project Management
Bid team members, portfolio leads, and functions contributing to proposal and baseline preparation, including Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Quality, IT/IS, HSE, Security, etc.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
* Exhibit leadership behaviors aligned with Thales values
* Embed delivery accountability and proactive risk management culture
* Create and control bid schedules and resource plans
* Establish and manage technical and non-technical requirements baseline
* Support creation of robust initial project baselines
* Manage customer, supplier, and partner relationships
* Coordinate and control assumptions, dependencies, and exclusions list (MADEL)
* Contribute to proposal development and reviews
* Ensure cross-functional alignment and focus on cash management
* Promote solutions options, make/buy decisions, and project strategies
* Create initial project plans (e.g., project charter, PMP)
* Maintain bid data repository and ensure smooth transition to project team
* Ensure bid activities comply with Thales processes
* Support bid budget management and reporting
Experience:
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
* Strong English and writing skills for proposals
* Understanding of complex bid/project requirements

Security Clearance:
