Production Team Leader | Nights only | Chichester
We’re looking for a confident and proactive Production Team Leader to join our fast-paced Production team at Natures Way Foods.
This is a hands-on Supervisory role with responsibility for leading your team to deliver safe, high-quality products while meeting daily performance targets. You’ll coach colleagues, monitor KPIs, drive improvements and ensure food safety and compliance standards are met at all times.

Shift pattern
We operate a nights-only shift pattern: 7pm – 7am.
You will work 4 days a week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
As a Production Team Leader, you will:
9. Lead, guide and coordinate Production Operatives and agency colleagues on your line
10. Ensure all Health & Safety standards are followed, reporting accidents and near misses immediately
11. Complete start-up checks and manage non-conformances, escalating major issues appropriately
12. Ensure food safety, GMP and customer standards are met at all times
13. Take ownership of line KPIs including yield, waste, giveaway and downtime
14. Monitor Short Interval Control (SIC) hourly and implement corrective actions when required
15. Ensure accurate and timely completion of food safety and compliance paperwork
16. Coach and train colleagues to achieve right-first-time quality standards
17. Manage line resources effectively including labour, materials and equipment
18. Deliver clear and detailed handovers between shifts
19. Identify and communicate continuous improvement opportunities
This is a supervisory role - you set the standard and lead by example.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
20. Previous experience within FMCG or food manufacturing
21. Supervisory experience or strong demonstrable leading capability
22. Proven machine operation experience
23. Strong understanding of KPIs and production targets
24. Good organisational and timekeeping skills
25. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
26. Confidence to coach, motivate and manage performance
27. Fluent spoken and written English
Ideal candidate:
28. Already working as a Production Team Leader, Senior Operative or aspiring Supervisor
29. Comfortable managing performance and escalating issues
30. Data-driven and KPI aware
31. Strong on food safety and compliance
32. Calm under pressure
