As part of the Housing team, you will provide secure, sustainable housing solutions, supporting residents to sustain their tenancies and improve their quality of life, social skills, health, and wellbeing. A key aspect of the role is advising and supporting residents on income maximisation, tenancy sustainment, welfare reform, and fuel poverty to prevent rent arrears and homelessness.
Qualifications required include SVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline, along with housing experience and knowledge of housing legislation and practices. Good IT and communication skills are essential, as well as experience in report writing. You should be committed to customer care, understand benefits claims, and be able to relate to vulnerable community members needing support.
You will need to be registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Placement on the NLC9 scale depends on extended housing experience, holding the CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing (SCQF Level 8), and demonstrating competence as per the competency matrix for the post.
A driving licence is essential due to the geographical spread of work across North Lanarkshire.
You must become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain satisfactory membership prior to starting.
