They are currently seeking a capable, experienced Hydrologist with extensive design experience within ground water and dewatering, who is willing to take on a number of challenging projects. You will be based near the charming, historical town of Burton-on-Trent. Benefits for the role of Hydrologist include (but are not limited to): Highly-competitive salary packageEmployee Pension SchemeGenerous annual leave entitlementFlexible working arrangementsDedication to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD)A close-knit, inclusive working environment, with a focus on collaborative working Responsibilities for the role of Hydrologist include: Supporting projects from initial inception through to detailed design and implementationUndertaking groundwater impact assessmentsProducing conceptual hydrological and hydrogeological modelsDesigning and assessing temporary and permanent dewatering systemsProducing numerical and analytical groundwater models, in support of design solutionsAnalysing groundwater-surface water interactions and impactsPreparing a number of technical documents, including technical reports, method statements, etc.Gathering and interpreting site investigation data and pumping test resultsLiaising with clients and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors Required skills and experience for the role of Hydrologist include: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or a similar, relevant disciplineExtensive experience in groundwater and de-watering design, in a UK-based consultancy or local authority settingSubstantial experience with the use of relevant software systems, e.g. MODFLOW, TUFLOW/Flood Modeller/HEC-RAS, SEEP/W, etc.Demonstrable experience with GIS software (i.e., QGIS, ArcGIS)Considerable experience with the use of AutoCADExperience of developing conceptual modelsProven experience of pumping test design and analysisDemonstrable experience of assessing groundwater flow, drawdown, and settlementExtensive experience in undertaking groundwater risk assessmentsExcellent working knowledge of hydraulic and hydrogeological principlesOutstanding communication skills, written and verbalHighly-competent in numeracy, with a technical mindset Desirable skills and experience for the role of Hydrologist include: A Master's Degree in a relevant disciplinePossess Chartered Status with a relevant Professional Body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, etc.), or actively working to attain thisHold a full, valid UK Driving LicenceHave a keen understanding of the relevant UK legislation, regulations, and frameworks If you are interested in the role of Hydrologist, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
