Bid Manager £50k-£65k per year Full-time | Permanent Role Overview We are seeking a structured and commercially aware Bid Manager to lead the preparation and coordination of tender submissions across civil engineering and construction opportunities throughout the UK and Ireland. This role is central to securing new work and strengthening the business development pipeline. The successful candidate will play a key role in converting opportunities into compliant, high-quality submissions while supporting continued business growth. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage tender submissions from initial enquiry through to final submission Review PQQs, SQs, ITTs, and framework opportunities for suitability and risk Coordinate estimating, operations, commercial, design, and HSEQ input for each bid Prepare and edit high-quality written responses tailored to client requirements Manage submission programmes, deadlines, and document control throughout the bid process Ensure all tender documents are compliant, accurate, and professionally presented Maintain and improve bid library content, project case studies, staff CVs, and supporting information Assist in identifying and developing new systems to improve efficiency Liaise with subcontractors and supply chain partners for quotations and technical input Support post-tender clarifications, interviews, and presentation material Support senior management in identifying new opportunities Review tender feedback and identify improvements for future submissions Candidate Requirements Previous experience in a Bid Manager, Bid Writer, Proposals Manager, or similar role Construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or utilities sector experience preferred Strong written communication, organisation, and time management skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and produce high-quality work under pressure Good commercial awareness and understanding of public and private sector procurement High level of attention to detail and document accuracy Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Desirable Knowledge of NEC and JCT procurement environments Experience with public procurement portals and framework submissions Understanding of social value, quality responses, and submission scoring Must have own transport due to the location.
