The successful applicant will provide a comprehensive Obstetric and Gynaecological service to ensure the IWT are able to provide place‑based care wherever possible/appropriate adhering to NHS population‑health priorities.
The Isle of Wight has a finite but diverse population therefore applications are welcome for the following Core Gynaecology Subspecialties: Gynaecological Oncology, Urogynaecology, Maternal & Reproductive Health (Benign Gynaecology focus). Targeted subspecialty interests (eg urogynaecology, hysteroscopy, colposcopy, menopause) are also welcome to support the IWTs desire to build and maintain a Resilient, Future‑Proof Consultant Workforce.
To participate in the 1:6 Consultant on-call rota as agreed with appointee.
Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.
You will work as a dual‑role Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, contributing across maternity, emergency and elective gynaecology services.

The on-call commitment is 1 in 6 and the appropriate supplement is Category A low frequency with 3% payable. There is an on-call allocation of 1.25 PA (including 0.83 PAs unpredictable activity and 0.42 PAs evening on‑site ward round) which is incorporated into the 10.0 PA job plan.
