We are looking for an experienced maintenance operative/ handy person to join our team at Greville House Care Home.
Greville House is a 24 bed residential care home, in a character building.
The hours of work would be Monday to Friday 8am - 12pm, 20 hours per week.
The ideal candidate would have worked in a similar setting and will have an awareness of the requirements of a maintenance person within a care setting and be able to show care and compassion to the people living within our care homes.
1. To ensure fire safety checks are completed as required.
2. To check water temperatures on a monthly basis including legionella checks when required.
3. To maintain the equipment and mobility aids within the home ensuring they are fit for purpose.
4. Decorating within the home when required with attention to detail.
5. To report hazards, actual or potential, to the management.
6. To keep residents rooms in a good state of repair.
7. To accurately complete charts and records.
8. Check maintenance book daily and carry out all reasonable instructions from senior staff, promptly and effectively.
9. To keep an inventory of all items kept within the shed and stock balance of items.
10. To monitor and adapt the working routine to suit changing needs.
11. To attend meetings with the management staff.
12. To ensure that all areas of the home are well lit, replacing light bulbs when required.
13. To check the emergency lighting on a regular basis arranging replacements when needed.
14. Ensure that all safety certificates are in date and renewed when expired. Such as Gas safety, PAT testing, fixed electrical wire testing.
15. To assemble furniture upon delivery to the home.
16. To maintain gardens to a high standard.

Pay: £13.75 per hour
