Every year, domestic abuse shatters the lives of 2.3 million people across the UK. In Birmingham, we are determined to change that. This is your opportunity to join a passionate Domestic Abuse Prevention Team, working to break the cycle of abuse, support safer communities, and deliver lasting change through the City's Domestic Abuse Prevention Strategy. The post holder will lead on implementing Part 4 of the Domestic Abuse Act, which places duties on local authorities to provide domestic abuse support in safe accommodation for all survivors. Amongst other duties, this role will involve progressing and delivering work at a fast pace.
Responsibilities
* Lead on data collection and insight across the partnership supporting the delivery of the authority's statutory duty under Part 4 of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, to commission support within safe accommodation and report on this duty, ensuring it is evidence‑led.
* Proactively manage and oversee the delivery of Domestic Abuse Prevention Strategy 2024+, its action plan and the strategy delivery groups to ensure the action plan for the Strategy is moving forward.
* Collaborate with a range of partners both internally and externally to support and drive our Domestic Abuse Local Strategic Partnership Board forward.
* Prepare and present reports to Cabinet and the City Council's Cabinet Members.
* Promote innovation and co‑production in service design and delivery of the Domestic Abuse Prevention Strategy 2024+.
Qualifications
* Proven experience of working within, or alongside, domestic abuse service providers or similar, with the confidence and drive to make a difference.
* Strong communication skills, able to build clear and effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver the Domestic Abuse Prevention Strategy.
* Demonstrated understanding of the domestic abuse landscape nationally, regionally and locally.
* Confidence in interpreting data to shape decisions and influence positive outcomes.
