CNC Turner
Mini Gears Stockport Ltd is an award-winning engineering Company that supply a wide range of gears and machined components worldwide to various industries. We are looking for a CNC Turner to join our team.
Responsibilities
As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes and turning centers using controls such as Mazak/Mazatrol, HAAS, and Fanuc systems. You will manufacture high-precision components for industries including aerospace and automotive, handling small to medium batch quantities. The role requires the ability to work independently and efficiently.
Key tasks include:
* Set up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as:
* Turning various metal components.
* Proving out new programmes
* Using precision measuring devices to ensure proper dimensions of parts.
* Using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to measure dimensions of parts.
* Operating machines (Mazak/Mazatrol, Fanuc and HAAS) that perform the cutting, grinding, shaping, and polishing of metal.
* Using precision measuring devices to ensure proper dimensions of parts.
* Use the various machining systems to manufacture parts to tight tolerances
* Lifting and/or move parts from one location to another.
* Cleaning and/or assembling tools and equipment used in the manufacturing process.
Skills·
Ability to use precision measuring devices such as micrometers or calipers to ensure accuracy of dimensions and lengths of components.
* Proficiency in using precision measuring devices like micrometers and calipers.
* Strong communication skills with co-workers.
* Extensive experience in setting up and operating CNC lathe machines.
* Experience in a fast-paced machine shop environment.
* Familiarity with Fanuc systems.
* Previous experience in manufacturing steel components.
* Ability to work with various materials such as aluminium, mild steel, and stainless steel.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Thursday 13.45pm to midnight
