We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care within a busy general practice setting. The role involves working collaboratively with GPs, practice staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient support.
Main duties of the job
* Provide direct patient care, including health assessments, wound management, and health education
* Administer medications and injections accurately and safely in accordance with practice protocols
* Assist GPs during consultations, examinations, and minor procedures
* Monitor patient vital signs and record medical histories accurately
* Support patients with chronic disease management programmes and health promotion initiatives
* Maintain clinical documentation in compliance with legal and organisational standards
* Ensure infection control procedures are adhered to at all times
* Educate patients on health matters, medication use, and lifestyle modifications
* Support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointment schedules and patient enquiries

Experience
* Experience of working within a nursing team
* Experience of working in primary care
Qualifications
* Adult nursing qualification; up‑to‑date registration with NMC
* Child immunisations, smear diploma or equivalent
Requirements
* Qualified Nurse with registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or equivalent professional body
* Proven experience in patient care within a primary care or community setting is desirable
* Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
* Competent in medication administration, including injections and wound care
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient support
* Organised, reliable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations
* Flexibility to work shifts as required by the practice’s operational hours
