You’ll also need basic IT skills, confidence in using hand tools (including drills), and experience of working safely at heights. Just as important is your awareness of safeguarding issues and your commitment to supporting vulnerable residents with professionalism and empathy. The role: We are seeking a proactive and technically minded Telecare Officer to join the Home Safeguard team within the Housing Service. You’ll play a vital role in supporting vulnerable residents by installing, maintaining, and promoting the telecare and alarm equipment, ensuring prompt and effective emergency response services. Key Responsibilities: Install and demonstrate telecare equipment and key safes, ensuring compliance with Telecare Services Association standards Diagnose and, where possible, resolve technical faults on-site Carry out scheduled visits to service users for equipment checks and preventative maintenance Accurately complete all relevant administration, including hire agreements and service documentation Promote the Home Safeguard Alarm Service, attending events and distributing marketing materials Support ad hoc installations and respond flexibly to urgent service requirements Ensure personal data is managed securely and in line with GDPR and Council guidelines Maintain strong working relationships with service partners to support residents’ wellbeing and independence Undertake training as a control centre operator to support team resilience Maintain up-to-date knowledge of telecare equipment and related technologies What the client is looking for: Basic IT skills Ability to demonstrate and explain Telecare to a varied customer base Ability to use hand tools, including battery powered drills Experience of working from heights Must have a caring attitude in order to support some of the most vulnerable people Excellent customer service skills and communication skills Aware and understand safeguarding issues and know how to report issues arising.
