TeacherActive is proud to be working in partnership with a high-performing secondary school in Taunton, which is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a well-supported, forward-thinking school that values high standards and student progress.
As a Science Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, maintaining classroom control, supporting student engagement, and ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff. Your strong Science background will enable you to confidently support students in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
The successful Science Cover Supervisor will have:
Previous experience working in a secondary school environment (essential)
A strong academic background in Science (degree or equivalent qualification required)
Good classroom management skills and the ability to build rapport with students
A proactive, resilient, and professional approach to teaching and learning support
The confidence to lead full classes and keep pupils on task
