Swansea Bay University Health Board Radiology services are provided on three main sites: Morriston (Swansea), Singleton (Swansea) and Neath Port Talbot Hospitals.

We are looking to appoint a Band 6 Diagnostic Radiographer to support Radiology services on the Singleton Hospital site, joining the busy multidisciplinary teams there. You should be a qualified Diagnostic Radiographer with current HCPC registration, with substantial experience in CT.

Main duties of the job

This role will involve rotation through the CT and General & Speciality Radiology areas, allowing you to complement our existing team. Your duties will incorporate inclusion in the main out-of-hours rota. You should have substantial experience within Radiography, be BSc / DCR qualified, be able to demonstrate evidence of organisational and leadership skills and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Experience in CT would be essential to the role.

The busy, friendly and supportive Departments within the Health Board perform a wide range of plain film x-ray procedures, Fluoroscopy, Theatre, and CT. The Department is committed to providing training and development for all staff. All Radiographers are involved with teaching undergraduate student Radiographers from the University Hospital of Wales.

Experience

Essential criteria

1. Experience undertaking CT and /or MRI imaging and general radiography
2. Has up to date CPD portfolio
3. Knowledge of clinical governance and its application in Radiology departments.

6. Physically capable of moving and positioning various types of patient and equipment
7. Ability to work as part of a team
8. Able to work on own initiative and unsupervised
9. Able to manage a clinical workload and meet deadlines
10. Able to deal with patients presenting with a range of conditions
11. Able to communicate learned skills to junior staff
12. Good interpersonal skills
13. Good IT skills including the use of virtual platforms such as Teams/SKYPE Counselling skills

Desirable criteria

14. Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in Welsh.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

15. Diploma of College Of Radiographers in BSc in Radiography or equivalent.
16. State Registration –HCPC
17. Postgraduate Certificate in CT or MRI or able to able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience
