The Role
The HSEQ Manager leads Roadtech’s Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems, ensuring our work is delivered safely, compliantly and consistently across all projects and depots.
This role is central to maintaining our accreditations (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and NHSS 8, plus CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor), supporting safe site operations, and driving continuous improvement. It blends hands-on site engagement with structured documentation, governance and audit preparation.
Flexibility of Candidate Profile
We require a qualified HSEQ professional (NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate as a minimum).

Reporting to the Business Directors
Key interfaces: Operations, Site Supervisors, Clients, External Auditors, Subcontractors
Location: Primarily office-based in Staffordshire, with regular site visits across the UK
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure Roadtech’s safety, environmental and quality procedures are applied consistently across all sites.
* Communicate HSEQ requirements clearly and support supervisors and operatives with practical, day-to-day guidance.
* Deliver training sessions, toolbox talks and site briefings.
* Carry out site inspections, audits and behavioural safety checks.
* Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses; identify root causes; implement corrective actions.
* Create, review and update HSEQ policies, procedures, manuals and RAMS.
* Host external ISO audits and maintain audit-ready evidence (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and NHSS 8).
* Maintain training records, competency checks and safe‑working controls.
* Support client documentation, including project HSEQ plans, CPPs and RAMS.
* Work closely with operational teams to embed consistent compliance and a strong safety culture.
Conditions
* Monday–Friday, with some night or weekend work as required by operational needs.
* UK driving licence essential.
Hard Skills & Experience
* NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
* Good understanding of CDM Regulations, UK health and safety law and construction‑sector compliance.
* Ability to produce and manage HSQE documentation, audits and records.
Depending on level
* Entry‑level: 1-3 years’ HSEQ experience in construction, highways or utilities.
* Experienced: 3–7+ years in HSEQ management, including audit responsibility and ISO support.
* Experience in highways, civils, lining, surfacing, technology installs or related infrastructure.
* Temporary works or other sector‑specific training.
