Customer Service Representative | Permanent Role | Full-Time | Northampton
Job Summary: you will be responsible for managing and growing a specific portfolio of accounts, maximising sales opportunities within that portfolio, and expanding into the wider market.
Responsibilities
* Achieve sales targets by selling the company's full range of products to existing customers.
* Secure new business by canvassing prospective clients.
* Support marketing campaigns with follow-up activities.
* Represent the company at exhibitions and events.
* Use the company intranet and keep your portals updated.
* Keep the Commercial Manager informed on all key issues and progress.
* Assist the Technical team with organising and processing customer samples.
* Process orders and follow up on logistical issues to ensure on-time delivery.
Skills and Requirements
* Proficient in general administration systems, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Experience with diary management and updating calendars.
* Proactive and self-motivated with a drive to meet sales targets.
* A full UK driving licence is essential, as the role involves occasional travel and overnight stays.
* Must be a professional and polite ambassador for the company. Ability to work closely with other teams across the business.
* Excellent computer literacy and a "hands-on" approach to practical tasks.
* Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively at all levels.
* While a background in sales (e.g., as a Field Sales Representative or Account Manager) is ideal, it is not essential as training will be provided.
Working Environment
This is primarily an office-based role, though occasional travel and overnight stays may be required. There may also be some occasional weekend work. As this is a small business, duties may vary to assist other team members.
