CBW is currently recruiting for a Fire Alarm Engineer to work across seven high‑end residential buildings, mainly around the Canary Wharf area. The successful candidate will have proven experience working on fire alarm and life safety systems, including PPMs, remedial works, fault‑finding, testing, and general maintenance. In return, the company offers a competitive salary of up to £52,000, overtime, and further technical training.</p><h3>Package & Working Hours</h3><ul><li>£50,000 to £52,000 (depending on experience)</li><li>£180 - £220 a day CIS (depending on experience)</li><li>Overtime available</li><li>Working hours: 7.30 – 17.00 Mon–Thur & 7.30 – 16.00 Fridays</li><li>£160 a month travel allowance</li><li>24 days holiday + bank holidays</li><li>Private healthcare insurance</li><li>Further fire alarm training and development</li><li>Company pension</li></ul><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Carrying out fire alarm PPMs across residential buildings.</li><li>Completing all remedial works identified through PPMs and inspections.</li><li>Testing, commissioning, and fault‑finding on fire alarm and life safety systems.</li><li>Undertaking routine fire alarm testing and certification.</li><li>Servicing and maintaining a range of fire and life safety systems including:
<ul><li>Conventional and addressable fire alarm systems</li><li>Emergency lighting interfaces</li><li>Fire panels, detectors, sounders, and call points</li></ul></li><li>Ensuring all work complies with current British Standards and fire safety regulations.</li><li>Providing clear service reports and communicating recommendations to site management and clients.</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Fire alarm qualification (e.g. FIA Units or equivalent)</li><li>AOV experience very desirable</li><li>Strong background working on fire alarm systems within building services or FM environments</li><li>Experience carrying out fire alarm PPMs, repairs, testing, and fault‑finding</li><li>Knowledge of BS 5839 and fire safety compliance</li><li>Must be able to provide copies of relevant trade certificates</li><li>Ability to work independently across multiple sites</li><li>Strong problem‑solving skills</li><li>Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills</li></ul></div>
