Are you committed to supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? We are seeking a compassionate and proactiveSpecialist Teaching Assistantto join a dedicated team within a Specialist School, providing tailored support to pupils with a range of autism-related needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASD.
* Assist in the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
* Promote communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
* Use visual aids, sensory strategies and structured routines to support learning.
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists and SENCOs to ensure consistent support.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children or young people with ASD or other neurodiverse conditions.
* Patient, empathetic and able to adapt to individual needs.
* Skilled in using autism-friendly approaches such as PECS, TEACCH or Makaton - not essential
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Autism Awareness training) are desirable but not essential.
