Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) Security Engineer to support the design, implementation, and enhancement of security controls within an enterprise OpenShift environment. The ideal contractor will have hands-on experience securing OpenShift clusters and implementing platform-native security features in line with best practice and organisational security standards. Given the nature of the work we are Ideally looking for someone who already holds a SC clearance.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and manage security controls within Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
* Configure and enforce OpenShift security features, including:
o Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
o Security Context Constraints (SCCs)
o Network Policies
o Pod and container security configurations
* Integrate OpenShift with enterprise identity and access management (IAM) solutions (eg LDAP, Active Directory, SSO).
* Implement and support container image security, including image scanning, registries, and trusted pipelines.
* Work closely with platform, DevOps, and security teams to ensure secure-by-design container platforms.
* Support compliance, hardening, and audit requirements across OpenShift environments.
* Troubleshoot and resolve security-related issues across clusters and workloads.
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
* Proven experience implementing OpenShift security features at platform level.
* Solid understanding of container and Kubernetes security concepts.
* Experience with RBAC, SCCs, Network Policies, and secure workload configuration.
* Familiarity with container registries, image scanning, and vulnerability management.
* Strong Linux background (Red Hat/RHEL preferred).
Desirable Skills
* Experience with OpenShift Service Mesh, Operators, or GitOps tooling.
* Knowledge of enterprise security standards and compliance frameworks.
* Red Hat certifications (eg RHCSA, RHCE, or OpenShift certifications).
* Experience working in large-scale or regulated enterprise environments.
