Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work as a Clinical Lead in Early Years, in Ceredigion. The post holder will hold a highly specialist clinical caseload within the early years’ service in Ceredigion and may include supporting children with complex needs. The role includes line management responsibilities for the Early Years team in Ceredigion and opportunities to work as a Highly Specialist SLT within the Early Years.
Responsibilities
* Directly line manage staff working for the SLT service, collaborating with Service Leads to support equitable service provision and development.
* Use coaching and facilitative skills to enable the team to provide high-quality clinical services.
* Work with other SLT staff to ensure operational and clinical service development are integrated.
* Respond innovatively to service pressures and prioritise service activities according to local needs.
* Provide leadership and strategic oversight of service areas to ensure equitable and timely intervention.
* Work with commissioners and partners to provide reports and data for Flying Start and Families First workbooks.
* Manage a highly specialist clinical caseload and triage new referrals; manage waiting times; support children with complex needs.
* Provide supervision, advice and second opinions to more junior colleagues.
Qualifications and requirements
* Registered or eligible for registration as a Speech and Language Therapist (as per local regulatory requirements).
* Experience in Early Years settings and managing a team is desirable.
* Welsh language skills desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers welcome.
