With an Increase to 0.8 or full time from September 2026

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for you to join a school where you will be valued and appreciated by pupils, colleagues and parents alike; where our CPD programme has been recognised as exceptional and the caring and supportive environment means that staff turnover is incredibly low; in November 2022 our school was rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in all areas.
We are looking for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of History, and invite applicants who can demonstrate exceptional teaching resulting in high attainment, whilst fostering an environment where an enjoyment for learning thrives.
For the right candidate, there is also the opportunity to take on the role of Second in Charge of the History Department, supporting the Head of Department in leading curriculum development, mentoring colleagues, and driving innovation within the subject area.
The ideal person will be an outstanding teacher, with a passion for History, have the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential, and be committed to developing the department through collaborative planning and sharing of ideas and resources. The appointed teacher will support the ethos of the school and help maintain the core values of integrity, respect and humility. They will have the highest expectations of the students and create drive and ambition for them to succeed, in History and beyond.
ECT’s are welcome to apply, but all applicants must be confident teaching the curriculum across KS3,4 and 5. Experience in teaching Edexcel GCSE History and AQA A Level (Component 2 - Germany 1918-45) would be a significant advantage as would a proven ability to help A level students complete their NEA.
Students’ behaviour at our school is impeccable; they treat each other and staff with real respect, have a genuine enjoyment of school and enjoy their learning. Our students and staff are proud of their school and work hard to be the best that they can be. We strive for everyday excellence in all that we do. Students at the school make excellent progress (top 10% of schools for KS2-4 progress and attainment) and demonstrate excellent behaviour for learning.
Closing Date: 5pm, Wednesday 8th October 2025, Interviews Friday 10th October 2025
