Electrical Supervisor – UK & Ireland at Nordex Group

Do you share our passion for renewable energy for a greener and sustainable future? Nordex has an exciting opportunity for the role of Electrical Supervisor covering our sites across the UK & Ireland. Contract type: Permanent. Location: UK & Ireland. Hours: 3 weeks on site, 1 week rest.


How can you make a difference?

As an Electrical Supervisor, you will provide electrical expertise during the installation and finishing phase of our projects in order to prepare the Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) or Wind Farm for commissioning.


Key Responsibilities

* Inspecting, controlling and supervising the respective electrical installations inside and adjacent to a Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) according to the relevant instructions including any Technical Notifications and Safety Alerts.
* Controlling and supervising all activities relating to the installation and connection of the SCADA communication system. Moreover, the SCADA system must be prepared for commissioning by energisation and verification of telecom connections prior for the commissioning of the first WTG.
* Ensuring that all installation and finishing activities comply with general Nordex HSE regulations and specific HSE regulations for construction sites.
* All electrical work carried out on site must be performed with respect to the five basic electrical safety rules.
* Ensuring pro‑active quality throughout the installation and finishing process.
* Assisting the site manager in QG1 inspections on delivery to the site.
* Performing the Q‑Gate 23 checklist, by applying the respective quality checklist.
* Participating actively at daily and weekly site meetings organised by the site manager.
* During the commissioning and testing phase this role may also supervise and control any subcontractor activities to ensure timely results.
* Co‑ordinating with the Site Manager regarding the activities related to the switch‑on and switch‑off operations.
* Ensuring all personnel are clear off WTG’s prior to switching operations.
* Conducting quality deviations occurring during installation and finishing.


What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in working with WTG’s and be certified as a qualified electrician or qualified electrical worker.

Experience with low, medium and high voltage component systems and having switching operation authorisation.

Completed GWO approved training in Working at Heights, Manual Handling, First Aid, Fire Awareness, and Rescue at Heights. IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications would also be desirable.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and engineers, and display systematic problem solving and safety‑orientated behaviour.

Leadership capabilities to lead a team when required and explain complex technical issues to clients, customers and our teams.

Computer literacy, especially with MS Office packages.

High motivation to work on remote sites across the UK & Ireland and be away from home approximately 60% of the year.

Full UK/EU Driving Licence and physical fitness to climb WTG’s (Chester step test).
