Charity Jobs NI (part of the Happy Jobs group) is partnering with Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful to recruit a proactive, organised, and dedicated Local Environmental Quality Coordinator. This role involves coordinating environmental quality and certification programmes, managing stakeholder engagement, supervising departmental officers, and promoting community participation in sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage resources and deliver programme outputs effectively within budget and deadlines.
* Lead planning, implementation, and reporting of environmental initiatives.
* Coordinate certification programmes such as Blue Flag and Green Flag, and conduct cleanliness surveys.
* Develop community participation in sustainability projects and promote award programmes.
* Act as the primary contact, respond to technical enquiries, represent the charity at events, and prepare content for platforms.
* Assist in research and policy analysis related to environmental sustainability.
* Manage stakeholder communications and support marketing initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:
* Essential: Relevant third-level qualification or 3 years' equivalent experience; at least 1 year in surveying/auditing; 2 years in programme delivery; 1 year in staff supervision.
* Desirable: Experience in data collection, analysis, reporting, voluntary sector, or local government roles.
Skills & Licences:
* Strong ICT skills (Microsoft Office).
* Full current driving licence and access to transport.
Knowledge & Understanding:
* Environmental issues (essential).
* Behaviour change principles (desirable).
Personal Qualities:
* Effective independent and team working abilities.
* Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
Additional Requirements:
* Occasional travel throughout Northern Ireland and flexibility for beyond-standard hours.
Working Hours:
* Flexible hours between 8am - 6pm, with core hours 10am - 4pm, Monday to Friday.
Salary: £30,328. Contract: Permanent, subject to funding. Funded through DAERA Environment Fund.
