The dedicated facilities are designed to replicate current practice and feature industry-standard equipment, enabling staff and students to undertake life changing projects to improve health and social care.Role:To provide a technical support service to students and staff within the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences. Assisting with the provision of core services in designated laboratories, clinical simulation suites and specialist teaching facilities including the biological services unit (BSU) under the direction of the Senior Technician. To provide required gases, liquid nitrogen, solvents and associated equipment from stores and assist with the correct disposal of a range of wastes from teaching and research laboratories and clinical simulation suites.Ideal Candidate:We are seeking a highly motivated candidate who is a good team player and committed to enhancing the student experience. With a high standard of accuracy and time management skills, the candidate will be proactive and willing to learn. Previous experience of working within a laboratory and/or higher education setting is desirable. Previous experience working with rodents under ASPA 1986 and a willingness to undertake further PIL/IAT training is essential The post holder may also be required to support other practice areas within the faculty when required.Fixed Term: End date 28th August 2026.
