We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes or through home care services. Your primary focus will be to assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of care plans.
Duties
* Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Support clients in mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
* Help with meal preparation and feeding, adhering to dietary requirements.
* Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour.
* Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
* Follow care plans diligently to meet the individual needs of each client.
* Drive to various locations as required for home visits or appointments.
* Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
Experience
* Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is highly desirable.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members.
* Familiarity with creating or following care plans is advantageous.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for those required to travel between locations.
* An understanding of basic IT skills is necessary for maintaining records and using relevant software.
