Our client is a leading manufacturer of aerosol and bag‑on‑valve products, serving diverse sectors including personal care, healthcare, veterinary, automotive, and more. They're offering a unique opportunity for a Graduate Chemical Engineer to join their team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to gain practical industry experience and exposure to high‑impact projects in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing – HAZOP & Process Safety Support
* Assist in planning and documenting Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies
* Contribute to the development of HAZID and HAZOP procedures and documentation
* Support risk assessments and follow‑up actions
* Prepare and update P&IDs, site maps, and layout drawings
Engineering & Technical Projects
* Support process development and continuous improvement initiatives
* Help prepare technical documentation, reports, and SOPs
* Collect and analyse data for engineering and safety studies
* Collaborate with Engineering, Technical, and HSE teams on practical solutions
General Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to regular project updates
* Proactively engage in learning and professional development
What We’re Looking For
* BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Analytical mindset and problem‑solving ability
* Basic knowledge of chemical hazards and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* A genuine interest in process safety and industrial operations
Desirable
* Previous experience with HAZID/HAZOP (e.g. through a placement)
* Understanding of process safety in a manufacturing environment
