Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist/Administrator to work within the Newington Community Mental Health Team.

Our CMHTs provide assessment, specialist support, treatment, and care planning for service users with mental health issues such as depression and psychosis. The service is multidisciplinary and operates within an integrated hub alongside other services.

As Team Administrator/Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, staff, and visitors, and it is essential that you present yourself in a friendly and approachable manner.


Main duties of the job

* Perform a range of reception and administrative duties, including monitoring and booking appointments, managing a busy telephone line, receiving mail, processing clinical letters and correspondence, and monitoring team allocation lists.
* Work collaboratively with team members, ensuring administrative support is available to all staff at the centre.
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary team members, health professionals, GPs, social workers, service users, and other agencies.
* Work independently, demonstrating effective organizational and administrative skills.

Person specification


Qualifications

* NVQ Business Admin Level 2 or equivalent
* GCSE English or equivalent


Knowledge and Experience

* Experience as an administrator/receptionist
* Experience in a customer-focused healthcare environment
* Knowledge of CMHT services and community mental health settings
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure and independently
* Experience working within multidisciplinary teams


Skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Experience dealing with various disciplines and agencies
* Working knowledge of RiO
