Teaching Assistant – PRU – Walsall A Pupil Referral Unit in Walsall is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting students who require additional help to engage with learning. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people who may have faced barriers to education. As a Teaching Assistant in this setting, you will work closely with teachers to provide both 1:1 and small group support, helping students manage their behaviour and re-engage with education. You will play a key role in creating a safe, structured, and encouraging environment where students can succeed academically and personally. Job Role: Supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours. Delivering tailored 1:1 and small group interventions. Assisting with behaviour management and developing positive coping strategies. Building strong relationships with students to encourage engagement and achievement. Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external agencies. Requirements: Experience working with young people, ideally within a PRU, SEMH, or SEND setting. Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach. A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
