Learning Support Worker – Chester | Supporting SEND Pupils Across Local Schools

Do you have a passion for helping children with additional needs succeed in the classroom? TalentBoard is seeking Learning Support Workers to support pupils across a variety of Chester mainstream schools and specialist SEND settings.

This is a rewarding role where you’ll play an essential part in helping children with Autism (ASC), SEMH needs, communication differences, and behavioural challenges feel safe, included and ready to learn every single day.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Worker in Chester, you’ll be key to creating positive, supportive learning experiences for pupils who benefit from extra help. Your responsibilities may include:

* Providing 1:1 learning support and small-group interventions
* Supporting pupils with their IEP/EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
* Helping maintain a calm, structured and engaging classroom environment
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, support staff and external professionals
* Encouraging independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing
* Following safeguarding procedures and prioritising pupil safety at all times

All applicants must hold — or be willing to apply for — an Enhanced DBS.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds, including:

* Teaching assistant work, tutoring, youth work or behaviour support
* Care roles, support work, residential care or social care
* Mental health, nursing, counselling or wellbeing support roles
* Coaching, mentoring or voluntary work with vulnerable children or young people

If you are patient, supportive, adaptable and passionate about inclusive education, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications in education, childcare, psychology or SEN are helpful but not essential.
