Overview
The Emergency Gynaecology Unit is hoping to recruit a Band 6 Specialist Nurse to the team.
Responsibilities
* Coordinating and delegating roles to staff members for the shift
* Interpreting results and planning care
* Reviewing, assessing and examining patients with early pregnancy complications and acute gynaecological issues
* Providing high quality bereavement care for patients going through pregnancy loss
* Engaging with IQP & looking for ways to move our department forward
Service details
The EGU is a consultant-led service that provides emergency care for patients with gynecological concerns or early pregnancy complications

Qualifications and competencies
* Completed the Emergency Gynaecology course
* Competent in assessing patients presenting with early pregnancy complications and/or acute gynaecological conditions
* Competent in examining patients with early pregnancy complications
* Competent in planning ongoing care
* Competent in interpreting results and planning care for patients presenting with early pregnancy complications
* Co-ordinating a busy fast paced Gynaecology emergency department
* See, treat, discharge/plan for all pregnancy related attendances
Role characteristics
* EGU is a 24/7 fast paced emergency service. You will be expected to work long days, twilights and night shifts.
* Lead on IQP work and be have a Link Role
