Known globally for it's iconic race meets including the Dante and Ebor festival, York Racecourse has 19 race days this year from May to October alongside a number of exciting conferencing, banqueting and events throughout the year. We are seeking casual Cellar Porters to work race days, event days and set up days. As a Cellar Porter, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the bar from behind the scenes. You'll manage stock, maintain equipment, and uphold cleanliness and safety standards to support efficient and high-quality service. What we can offer: Flexible, casual hours to suit your availability Bi-weekly pay Opportunity to work at a large variety of showstopping events and venues- including The Great Yorkshire Show, The Paris Airshow and Doncaster St Leger Festival Paid travel time and mileage to other venues Paid induction and full training provided Full training Academy with career progression opportunities- both FOH and BOH Key Responsibilities Managing stock rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles Replenishing bar stock to ensure continuous service Assisting with stock takes and inventory control Handling keg management, including changing kegs and monitoring supply Monitoring and maintaining gas supply systems Carrying out line cleaning and ensuring hygiene standards are met Cleaning cellar areas and maintaining a safe working environment Supporting waste management and recycling procedures Performing manual handling tasks safely and efficiently Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations, including COSHH What We're Looking For Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment Knowledge or previous experience in cellar operations or bar support roles is desirable Understanding of stock control and rotation principles (FIFO) Team player with a proactive and reliable attitude Must be a minimum 17 years old to apply due to the nature of this role Inclusive Workplace At Legends Global, we are committed to leading the entertainment industry towards a greener, faster, and more innovative digital future.
