Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a Section Engineer to join our Lower Thames Crossing project.

What you'll be doing
As a Section Engineer, you will control a section of the works according to a specific discipline and manage a team of Site Engineers within the same discipline.
* Produce Method Statements and Risk Assessments, and undertake periodic reviews.
* Prepare and raise Temporary Works Briefs, ensuring timely implementation.
* Undertake safety audits and mentor less experienced staff.
* Provide primary setting out control and recognize the optimal location for installation.
* Use the Specification as a reference and coach junior team members in its use.
* Maintain a comprehensive filing system of quality records aligned with Project Quality Handover requirements.
* Ensure Site Engineers complete required quality checksheets on time.
* Identify and raise Technical Queries (RFIs) with possible solutions and track their closeout within the section.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
* Ability to clearly communicate safe systems of work and suggest improvements.
* Ownership of tasks and clear communication of outcomes.
* Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights.
* Ability to work independently and seek opportunities aligned with responsibility level.
* Current driving license and CSCS Card. SSSTS or SMSTS qualified.
* Strong team player with developed communication skills.
