Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
The Role:
As a member of the Body Electronics team, you will be part of a core systems design & development team focused on systems for future sports cars. You will be responsible for identifying future technology, defining a technology roadmap and following that roadmap, developing technology through the engineering lifecycle, into production.
The position requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with exceptional attention to detail, diligence, and a positive attitude. The fast-paced development and bespoke target platform provides a challenging environment suited to an engineer who can quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with other engineering teams within a multidisciplinary environment. Our customers expect high standards, and we require team capable of meeting such demands.
You will be responsible for:
1. System and components specifications
2. DFMEA
3. BoM management and Engineering release (SAP Structuring & Releases)
4. Validation planning (DVP)
5. Test specifications.
6. Timing plan and project management
7. Interface on CAN/LIN or Ethernet
8. Root Cause analysis (SW and HW) and Systems sign-off
9. Attributes delivery
10. Component functional testing & calibration.
11. Supplier Management, Component suppliers
12. Define Scope of change, Software requirements and ARXML changes
13. SW Validation
14. Definition of ECU Pin-outs, Connector & Harness Definition
15. Manage localization plan for new regions
16. Update and maintain test tool and test scripts
17. Costing & Budget planning - HW
18. Define and maintain component time plan (HW & SW)
19. Define EOL Configuration
20. Technology Road map for next Gen HW
21. HW samples for build readiness (Manage/Order and update HW Units)
22. Package Clearance and Serviceability, Assembly Sequence (Vehicle Assembly)

For your systems, you will be responsible for delivering all required elements of the customers development process to agreed gateway timings & cost. You will have multi system, multi vehicle responsibility and will help shape the vehicle electrical architecture.

Knowledge & Skills:
·Strong understanding of systems design & development process, systems engineering & the engineering V-lifecycle within an OEM or tier 1
·Shall demonstrate in depth knowledge in Lv Battery, TPMS, ORC and other body Electronics features.
·Degree qualified in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
·Strong technical project management skills with proven evidence of decision making and accountability is essential. It is core to the success of our business that these primary roles have the required level of leadership and motivation to succeed
·Previous experience of OEM or tier one electronic system management utilising all the key attributes, with a demonstrable record of delivery.
·Supplier management, comfortable with understanding and implementing requirements within the project scope.
·Automotive Embedded system hardware knowledge and experience will be preferred.
·Documentation of Technical Specifications, DFMEA, DVP, Timing Plans, Minutes and Actions of Meetings.
·Experience with Vector automotive products (or equivalent) ., CANoe, CANape, CANalyser, would be advantageous.
·Experience of the Systems Development Lifecycle (V Model).
·Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard.
·Organized, systematic and understanding the process of fault finding.
·Ability to effectively manage time between multiple projects.
·Experience with systems of responsibility within body electronics systems.
·Knowledge of CAN and Ethernet along with its tools.
·Experience and understanding of vehicle level system integration in terms of hardware and software.
·Background in low volume, high performance sports or racing cars preferred.
