Overview
The post holder will work as part of a team for the Primary Care Enhanced Access Service based in Havant and Waterlooville. The service provides clinical assessment and treatment to deliver a safe, efficient, and reliable care pathway. The post holder will work with the Clinical Lead, Service Manager, secondary care partners, GP colleagues, and the wider healthcare community to ensure patients receive optimal care in the correct setting. Health policies and standard operating procedures will be adhered to and refined where relevant.
In the planned primary care clinic, patients will undergo clinical assessment and review, examination, and appropriate investigations (e.g. x-rays, scans, blood tests). A diagnosis and management plan will be agreed. On occasion, onward referrals to specialties may be required.
The service is staffed by a team of GPs, Nurses, Paramedics, Healthcare Assistants and non-clinical staff.
Location: To cover Havant Health Centre and The Oaks, Waterlooville
Hours: We are seeking cover for the following times:
* Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 18:00 – 21:00
* Saturday: 09:00 – 17:00
Ideally, these hours will be covered by one contracted individual; however, we are open to considering more than one applicant to ensure full cover, on either a contracted or bank basis.
Main duties of the job
* Provide clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
* Request and interpret investigations (e.g. x-rays, scans, blood tests).
* Make safe and appropriate referrals to secondary care.
* Deliver emergency care when required while awaiting transfer.
* Provide clinical advice and support to colleagues.
* Contribute to teaching, training, and service improvement.

Job Description and Person Specification
Essential Experience
* An experienced doctor with GP accreditation
* Current GMC registration and NHS performers list (no conditions or restrictions)
* Experience in primary care and urgent care environments
* Record of ongoing CPD and learning
* MRCGP or equivalent
* Knowledge of QOF, LCS, DES, CQUINs and appropriate coding
* Understanding of political drivers influencing primary care
* Good leadership, organizational and IT skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Clear professional responsibility and accountability
* Ability to manage and prioritise own workload
* Clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute primary care presentations
* Be able to pass an enhanced DBS check
* Must be authorised to work in the EEC
* Knowledge of EMIS Clinical IT system (desirable)
