At Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) we are investing in our Acute Medical workforce and are therefore looking to recruit a Consultant into our team. We have a newly refurbished Acute Receiving Unit (ARU) and have implemented a model of care with our frailty colleagues.
Main duties of the job
You will have a unique opportunity to lead and shape the future of the service. You will be joining an enthusiastic, collaborative multi-disciplinary team that is committed to driving forward the Trust vision for Acute Medicine, delivering an exemplary service.
Our service is comprised of an Acute Receiving Unit (ARU) with 18 spaces, a 21-bedded ward and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit. Acute Medicine is a within the Integrated Medicine Care Group, working closely with colleagues in Emergency and Specialty medicine.

Person specification
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
10. •MB, BS or equivalent GMC registered qualifications
11. •CCST/ CCT in Acute or General Internal Medicine, OR Registration on GMC Specialist Register in Acute or General Internal Medicine OR within six months of achieving CCST\CCT at the time of interview
12. •CCST\CCT in desired additional specialty
13. •High Quality skills in general and acute medicine and ability to manage medical takes
Experience
Essential criteria
14. •General training in Acute Medicine or General Internal Medicine to specialist level or equivalent
15. •Research experience\publications
16. •3 years WTE minimum at SpR level in GIM\Acute Medicine higher speciality training
17. •Ability to make decisions at consultant level
