The Workforce & Absence Coordinator is responsible for monitoring, analysing and optimising labour utilisation and productivity across production. This role works closely with the Production and HR teams to administer absence processes, provide data and narrative to allow senior managers to undertake planning activities. The successful candidate must be comfortable dealing with a variety of stakeholders at different levels of the business, be good with data and enjoy working in a fast-paced food production environment. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate attendance records, producing meaningful absence and workforce data, and supporting managers with workforce planning and HR processes that help drive productivity and compliance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, engaging with people, and improving systems that support productivity and compliance and ensuring smooth absence and attendance processes. Key Responsibilities Workforce & Attendance Maintain accurate absence and time & attendance data in our system. Produce daily, weekly and monthly absence, holiday and leaver reports by department. Identify trends, highlight key insights, and support discussions with managers. Ensure time & attendance system is closed off correctly at month&8209;end for payroll. Manager Support Work closely with Manufacturing managers on labour gap analysis and support with workforce planning to meet productivity targets. Provide admin support for Manufacturing and HR managers (interviews, investigations, disciplinary/probation reviews), including preparing reports, note&8209;taking, and drafting outcome letters. Support occupational health referrals and coordinate employee health surveillance appointments. Compliance & Reporting Prepopulate absence certification checks prior to employees shift start. Ensure absence certification checks are completed before payroll cut&8209;off. Highlight payroll deadlines and escalate any risk of non&8209;payment to managers. Identify AWOL absence and flag to Manufacturing and HR managers for action. Communication Attend daily operational meetings to keep absence and workforce trackers updated. Arrange and support weekly absence & workforce review meetings. What You Bring Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUP, graphs, mail merge). Comfortable with data analysis and presenting insights clearly. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when working with systems and figures. Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Proactive, supportive attitude with a willingness to improve processes. Strong communication and confidence working with stakeholders at all levels. Experience Previous experience in a busy administrative or HR support role (ideally including reporting or attendance functions).
