An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Housing Fire Safety - Compliance Team as a Facilities Officer (FO).
We are seeking a dynamic Facilities Officer to oversee the operations of multiple buildings and services across the Residential estate. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth functioning of our buildings, providing safe, high-quality, and compliant environments for the residents of Sheffield City Council (SCC).
As a Facilities Officer, you will work as part of a busy team, ensuring buildings comply with statutory legislation. This includes supervising various buildings and service providers, and delivering a cost-effective, customer-focused, compliant service.
You must have sound knowledge and experience of relevant legislation, with the ability to interpret laws and guidance to ensure statutory functions are carried out to the highest standard.
The ideal candidate will possess or develop the following attributes:
* Good communication and problem-solving skills, along with enthusiasm, confidence, and good organization.
* Knowledge of building (housing) related health and safety, and understanding of statutory duties related to building management.
* Proficiency in IT systems to perform key building management tasks.
* A people-centered approach to support staff and service users, promoting wellbeing and challenging discrimination.
* Openness and honesty in work, fostering an environment that encourages speaking up, diverse ideas, and feedback.
