As a Local Ambulance Lead, you will mentor and support the ongoing development of a team of ambulance crew in your area to deliver high quality patient care. You will set a positive example by exhibiting a strong work ethic to motivate your team and support their professional development.
The brief for the clinical presentation is as follows:
"In the LAL role, you will be tasked with upholding clinical standards and mentoring less experienced volunteers. As part of this interview, the applicants are asked to prepare a 6-minute presentation on any clinical topic within the EAC skillset, this can be in any format (e.g. poster presentation, power-point). You should consider, but don’t have to include, brief anatomy/physiology, assessment, signs and symptoms and treatment. You must include references for all your information (e.g. JRCALC, evidence papers, consensus statements). You will receive a 4-minute notification from the panel and the presentation must stop at 6 minutes."
Induction will be arranged locally by the DAL once all offers have been issued.
The training we will provide for you in your first few months is as follows:
- Training on any additional IT systems and processes
- Training in appropriate St John policies
- Role specific training including ongoing ambulance CPD
- Mentorship and leadership training
